The NewSouth Bookstore actively hosts bookstore and off-site literary programs — book talks and readings — along with a variety of other programs both entertaining and educational. These include presentations by historians, readings of plays, music events, and community service programs. We enjoy such gatherings quite a lot. Two local writing talents read from their new work at The NewSouth Bookstore on Thursday, June 6 at 5:30pm. Garrett Ashley’s short story collection, Periphylla, and Other Deep Ocean Attractions, introduces a rare tableau of characters that collectively define our humanity. Circulation by Ken Autrey is a gorgeous set of elegies that shows an attentiveness to the power of the past with its riches and sorrows. Come enjoy the pleasures of listening to and discussion about good writing with these emerging voices.
