The NewSouth Bookstore actively hosts bookstore and off-site literary programs — book talks and readings — along with a variety of other programs both entertaining and educational. These include presentations by historians, readings of plays, music events, and community service programs. We enjoy such gatherings quite a lot. Our bookstore events calendar is always evolving, so please regularly check back here for updates to our calendar (and/or follow us on social media, where all such activities are also posted). We welcome your event suggestions and thank you for your support.
Mark your calendars to join us for a talk by David Greenberg about John Lewis: A Life. Passionately researched and compulsively readable, John Lewis: A Life is considered the new definitive biography of a true American hero. Greenberg’s book fills in the gaps of our understanding about Lewis, giving us a rich, three-dimensional portrait of a man who himself defined the civil rights movement but then went on to become one of the most consequential American politicians of our time. John Lewis: A Life was named a New York Times Notable Book for 2024. Reviewers are calling it “monumental” and “moving.” We are so fortunate to have David Greenberg to The NewSouth Bookstore for a talk on Thursday, March 6 at 5:30pm. You won’t want to miss this program!
