The NewSouth Bookstore actively hosts bookstore and off-site literary programs — book talks and readings — along with a variety of other programs both entertaining and educational. These include presentations by historians, readings of plays, music events, and community service programs. We enjoy such gatherings quite a lot. Summer time, and the livin’ is easy. We couldn’t be happier to welcome back Karren Pell and her group of talented musicians — the Old Alabama Revue — to The NewSouth Bookstore to celebrate the arrival of summer. Kick into relax mode with their tuneful revue, with renditions of your favorite songs and others — but allow for surprises! With this group, there are always musical and other surprises! Join us for the fun and laughter and snacks, too, along with the strains of your favorite beach songs, and maybe a sing-along, too. It happens on Thursday, May 20 starting at 6pm, at The NewSouth Bookstore, of course. Where else?
