The NewSouth Bookstore actively hosts bookstore and off-site literary programs — book talks and readings — along with a variety of other programs both entertaining and educational. These include presentations by historians, readings of plays, music events, and community service programs. We enjoy such gatherings quite a lot. Come meet and mingle with members of our fabulous Alabama Herb Society at The NewSouth Bookstore on Sunday, February 16 at 3pm. Learn about its annual Herb Day event — always fun! — and local gardening projects, and hear a talk by special guest Debbie Boutelier, longtime member of the Herb Society of America. Boutelier is deeply knowledgeable about herbs and will speak briefly about the issues of sustainability in gardening and the environmental impacts of climate change. Gardeners and aspiring gardeners, this will be an enjoyable coming together with much to learn!
